New York Mets vs. Florida Marlins

Author: Daniel Kline

The Mets couldn't win last Thursday against the Cardinals who didn't have Albert Pujols to help them in the offense. Jose Lima (0-3) got knocked out in the fifth. He and Jeremi Gonzalez, who start Friday against the Yankees, are essentially auditioning for one spot in New York's starting rotation. Although that scenario could change after rookie Brian Bannister left a rehab start after only five pitches on Thursday due to tightness in his right hamstring.
Lima hasn't lasted more than five innings in the last games he's started instead of Bannister; in 14 1/3 innings he has give up 14 earned runs. As Lima pointed out, missing Pujols was no bonus for him.

"I'm pulling for him because he's a good kid," Lima said of Bannister. "I'm taking his spot and if he comes back, he'll probably help the team win."

But right now the Mets are with a bit of problems in the pitching department. Hopefully they'll get everybody healthy very soon so they can keep with their winning record and get a chance for the playoffs this year.

Lineup
1. Jose Reyes, SS. 2.Jose Valentin, 2nd B. 3. Carlos Beltran, CF. 4.Carlos Delgado, 1st B. 5. David Wright, 3rd B. 6. Cliff Floyd, LF. 7. Ramon Castro, C. 8.Endy Chavez, RF. 9.Jose Lima, P.

The Florida Marlins got a four game sweep against the Braves; that was an impressive team during the whole series. The Marlins are having no fun at all though it's to be expected after they dumped all their high-salaried players and fielded a team that would probably be better off with another year of Triple-A experience.
Meanwhile what the managers are thinking is that this team will use the experience from this season to prepare for the upcoming year, it is a very young team with one of the lowest salary caps in the league.
They know the Marlins won't get nowhere this year. It's a long process for these players to be ready and become a competitive team. But if the management gives them the continuity needed they will become a good team because they're all talented player. It might not be next year either but in three years from now they could be very good.
Get on your feet and find which sportsbooks has the best lines for the series between these two teams you might find really good prizes if you research a little.
Lineup
